Abortion as genocide: Face the facts in the new year

Joy of Motherhood

Genocide:

[T]he systematic destruction of all or a significant part of a racial, ethnic, religious or national group.

[T]he deliberate killing of a large group of people…

Just like the Holocaust, the Armenian genocide, the Rwandan genocide, and Pol Pot’s Killing Fields, there’s no question that abortion is a deliberate killing and a systematic destruction. It is intentional and it happens again and again and again, day after day after day.

Each day in America, abortion clinics receive two people at a time. They destroy one of them with violent instruments or poisonous chemicals, and then, the woman is released through the door while the child exits through the garbage disposal or as medical waste. Intentional, deliberate, systematic killing.

Procedures have been developed to kill these children. Procedures that are followed time and time again. Procedures like the gas chambers for the Jews, the sharpened bamboo sticks and head bashings for the Cambodians, and the burnings and poisonings for the Armenians.

A former abortion doctor describes one of the most popular abortion procedures in America:

…D&E abortion is a blind procedure. The baby can be in any orientation or position inside the uterus. Picture yourself reaching in with the Sopher clamp and grasping anything you can. At twenty weeks’ gestation, the uterus is thin and soft, so be careful not to perforate or puncture the walls. Once you have grasped something inside, squeeze on the clamp to set the jaws and pull hard – really hard. You feel something let go, and out pops a fully formed leg, about 4 to 5 inches long. Reach in again and grasp whatever you can. Set the jaw and pull really hard once again, and out pops an arm about the same length. Reach in again and again with that clamp, and tear out the spine, intestines, heart, and lungs.

The toughest part of a D&E abortion is extracting the baby’s head. The head of a baby that age is about the size of a plum and is now free-floating inside the uterine cavity. You can be pretty sure you have hold of it if the Sopher clamp is spread about as far as your fingers will allow. You will know you have it right when you crush down on the clamp and see a pure white gelatinous material issue from the cervix. That was the baby’s brains. You can then extract the skull pieces. If you have a really bad day like I often did, a little face may come out and stare back at you.

Systematic destruction. Deliberate killing.

These facts are horrible to realize and almost impossible to ponder. And yet, it should be much more difficult for us to go about our lives, allowing this to continue every day.

Abortion Slave

Just like any other oppressed people group, the unborn children deserve to live.

Genocides continue for years and years only with the permission of the citizenry. The Holocaust could have ended if the German citizens would have stopped it. Other genocides, too, could have ended much sooner if the common people had not joined in the uprisings that destroyed so many.

As Americans, we must face abortion head on in the new year. We must talk about it on our Twitter and Facebook and Google Plus accounts. We must bring it up in discussions with our friends, our family, our classmates, our coworkers, and our fellow churchgoers.

Will it be hard, distasteful, tragic? Absolutely. But the cost of not talking about it is far more tragic.

In the last year (2013-2014 fiscal year), Planned Parenthood systematically executed 327,653 brand new children who will now, never walk the face of the earth. In America, over 1,000,000 abortions are committed annually (throughout the world, it’s approximately 42,000,000). Every six years or so, our American genocide of the unborn reaches Holocaust proportions. And we continue to perpetuate – and allow – the bloody cycle.

What will you do in 2015 to end the American genocide?
