Bro-choicers, abortionists have similar thoughts: ‘It’s their pregnancy; why is this our problem?’

A few years ago, comedian Sarah Silverman claimed to summarize the pro-life message: “You’re on your own, slut.”

That’s a rather odd assessment. After all, if anyone’s fond of using the word “slut,” it’s abortion fans. Pro-abortion author Tucker Max brags about “the slutty nature of some of the girls” he’s been with. Committed “bro-choicer” Christian McQueen wrote “The 10 Slut Commandments,” a guide on how to “exploit, turn out and next” women with “low self-esteem” and “daddy issues.” Commandment number four offers this bit of wisdom…

The idea of pro-lifers abandoning women is also a little curious. Pro-life websites like Option Line help connect them with pregnancy care centers – places where expectant moms can get assistance. One of the largest care center networks is called Care-Net, with facilities that offer free pregnancy tests, pregnancy information, and material support. Some locations are also equipped to provide testing for sexually transmitted infections, ultrasounds for pregnancy confirmation, and consultations with licensed medical professionals.

In contrast, there have been many instances in which the abortion industry has been considerably less supportive. That was Denise Fairbank’s experience: she was brought to a Planned Parenthood clinic by her abusive father after he’d impregnated her. Fairbanks later recounted in a lawsuit how she informed clinic staff and asked for help. The response? They performed an abortion and sent her back home.

Her father wasn’t unique, as the abortion industry also helped Timothy Smith, Gary Cross, John Blanks, Jr., Adam Gault, Joseph Coles, Kevon Walker, John F. Szorady, Tyler Kost, Edgar Ramirez, and dozens of other sexual predators stay out of jail too. But as some newly released footage proves, that’s not the only time the “you’re on your own” attitude can crop up.

Last year, members of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) attended a National Abortion Federation conference with hidden cameras. While federal court prohibited CMP from releasing the footage, it was recently leaked by a Capitol Hill staffer to Got News. Speakers addressed a range of topics, including what to do with the bodies of aborted children.

It turns out this is a tricky problem. While it’s true that Planned Parenthood had a lucrative habit of supplying fetal organs to researchers, not all body parts are in demand. Further, funeral homes and crematoriums can be reluctant to get involved. When faced with this challenge, Renee Chelian used a novel solution: her garbage disposal.

Chelian is the founder of Northland Family Planning, a Michigan-based abortion chain, and she spoke of how clinics in her state regularly pushed fetuses down the drain. Unfortunately, grinding up human beings and dumping them in the sewers runs the risk of bad publicity. So, she considered this option:

We were really tempted to give the fetus back. Do that. We thought, we’ll give it to everybody in a gift bag, they can take it home, and figure out what to do with it [audience laughter]. It’s their pregnancy, and why is this our problem? And I’m saying that in all seriousness [audience laughter].

On Northland Family Planning’s website, Chelian claims that her clinics are places “where women are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.” Well, unless it interferes with business, of course. In that case they’re on their own.

I can tell you who’s not on their own: the abortion industry. Every year, America’s largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood, receives over half a billion tax dollars, despite an array of scandals. You can help fix that by telling Congress you want those funds redirected to community health centers instead.

Abortion industry workers like Renee Chelian seem quick to ask, “Why is this our problem?” Meanwhile, pro-lifers are focused on another question.

How can we help?
