Another Planned Parenthood closes – this time in Colorado

Joining six other Planned Parenthood clinics that have closed or been blocked from opening in the first month of 2015, the Pueblo, Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic will close before the end of February.

KRDO, a local news channel, reports that the shopping center where Planned Parenthood is located came under new ownership recently. The new owner would not agree to a lease with Planned Parenthood, and the abortion giant could not locate another place in Pueblo to rent.

The Pueblo clinic is under the direction of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM), a particularly corrupt branch of Planned Parenthood. Recently, this branch has been complicit in committing a forced, botched abortion; sending a minor girl back to her rapist; suggesting illegal activity to a minor; misusing taxpayer dollars for sex ed; and more.

PPRM has also made a habit of lying to Colorado citizens — from its outrageously preposterous claims about state personhood amendments to its blatant lie about taxpayers’ money.

In this 2013 press release, PPRM claimed that it had been operating for over 10 years “without public funding.” The facts, however, are that from 2009-2013, PPRM received $14 million in public funding — both federal and state tax dollars.

Other Planned Parenthood Clinics Closing or Blocked from Opening in 2015

  • The Planned Parenthood Battle Creek Health Center (South Dakota) announced a closing date of January 31, after a major decline in patients: “a 53 percent drop in patients from 2013 to 2014.”
  • Planned Parenthood’s new clinic in New Orleans has been forbidden from performing abortions by the Louisiana Department of Health (and has not opened).
  • Today, Planned Parenthood’s new large facility in San Antonio, Texas, was blocked from opening by a court order. LifeNews reports: “A coalition of pro-life groups in San Antonio has obtained a court order blocking Planned Parenthood from opening their new 22,000 square foot facility in San Antonio until issues can be resolved regarding proper zoning, building safety standards, traffic safety and neighborhood buffering.”
  • Three other Planned Parenthood clinics reportedly closed in January – one each in New Hampshire, Washington, and New York.
