Planned Parenthood is suing the Center for Medical Progress

planned parenthood, boston

The Center for Medical Progress delivered Planned Parenthood one of their worst years ever, by exposing their illegal sales of the body parts of aborted babies. Multiple investigations were opened into Planned Parenthood, both state and congressional. Cecile Richards had to testify before Congress. State lawmakers across the country eliminated funding for Planned Parenthood, and for the first time in history, both the House and the Senate voted to defund Planned Parenthood as well.

No, 2015 was not a good year for Planned Parenthood — so it’s no surprise, then, that they’re retaliating. They’ve filed a lawsuit against the Center for Medical Progress.

The Hill reports:

Planned Parenthood on Thursday filed a long-awaited federal lawsuit against the anti-abortion activists who have targeted the group with undercover videos for the last year.

The formal complaint marks the first time that Planned Parenthood has taken legal action against the group, the Center for Medical Progress.

The national organization, along with its California affiliate, is accusing the Center for Medical Progress and its organizer David Daleiden for unlawful behavior ranging from secret taping to trespassing. The group said the Center for Medical Progress has violated the laws of three states as well as federal law.

“Today, Planned Parenthood is going on the offense,” Kathy Kneer, president of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California said in a call with reporters.

For their part, the Center for Medical Progress does not seem to be intimidated.

“GAME ON, PLANNED PARENTHOOD!!! I look forward to taking your depositions.” -David Daleiden, CMP Project Lead

Planned Parenthood’s chief legal counsel says that it could take as long as 18 months for a decision to be rendered, and they are seeking compensatory, punitive, and statutory damages. And though they smear the CMP videos as fraud, forensic analysis showed that the videos were not doctored or manipulated.

Live Action President Lila Rose commented in a statement today:

Funded with billions of our tax dollars, Planned Parenthood has shamelessly announced today that it is suing a brave young activist and some of his friends. This small group of people have done an incredible service to America, exposing the unspeakable horrors in the back rooms of abortion facilities: the slicing apart of tiny bodies, freshly aborted — some as old as six months — in order to extract their parts for money.

Half of Americans identify as pro-life, and the U.S. Congress has just voted to stop the forced taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood — only to be blocked by Planned Parenthood’s friend in the White House, President Obama, who received over $12 million from the abortion chain during his re-election campaign.

Today’s announcement shows that Planned Parenthood is desperate, knowing that its taxpayer funding may disappear with a new president in 2017. Just as it crushes the bodies of preborn children in its facilities, Planned Parenthood is now seeking to crush any dissent towards its crimes against humanity. Planned Parenthood’s abortion operations are not above the law. It is time for every American of good conscience to stand up and decry Planned Parenthood. May its arrogance and barbaric practices lead to its downfall.
