Physician and HLN host Dr. Drew Pinsky has demanded evidence that Planned Parenthood covered up child sexual abuse after his pro-life guest dared to suggest they did.
Alison Howard, Director of Alliance Relations for Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) made the charge during an interview in September where she addressed the defunding of Planned Parenthood as well as the abortion hashtag campaign called #ShoutYourAbortion.
Without ever investigating the charge himself, Dr. Drew appeared extremely agitated towards Howard for her criticism of Planned Parenthood, later admitting his role with the abortion business.
“I was there,” Dr. Drew said.
“We were working for Planned Parenthood to create an environment where young women could feel safe,” he stated. “Adolescents, young adults did not go to the traditional health care system. It was not about abortion ever. In fact many places didn’t offer abortion.”
Howard tried to tell Dr. Drew that Planned Parenthood is not good for children due in part to the way they cover for child sexual abuse, stating:
I’m talking about the young girls [who] were taken to Planned Parenthood by their perpetrators, and who wished Planned Parenthood shouted about their abuse, but, instead, as we’ve seen in recent reports, covered up that sexual abuse.
Dr. Drew sounded sarcastic in his response, asking Howard, “If somebody was duplicitous in covering up sexual abuse they would go to prison, am I wrong?” He added, “… If you yourself have information… and you do not report it, you are duplicitous. You are part of the crime….” He then suggested that the possibility was slim, saying perhaps there may be “one incident on some Planned Parenthood on some outlying part of the country where that happened” and if so, “I hope you will prosecute that person.”
Merriam-Webster defines “duplicitous” as “deceptive in words or action” while the Free Dictionary defines it as, “given to or marked by deliberate deceptiveness in behavior or speech.”
So in this instance, it is Dr. Drew who is being duplicitous, because he knows full well that Planned Parenthood covers child sexual abuse, having recently had Live Action’s president Lila Rose on his show, detailing her undercover investigations exposing this illegal activity. The investigations found multiple Planned Parenthood clinics in multiple states were willing to cover-up sexual abuse, disregarding mandatory suspected statutory rape reporting laws. Here is just one:
In addition to Live Action’s undercover investigations, another pro-life organization also exposed this evil. In 2002, the Texas-based group Life Dynamics called over 800 abortion and Planned Parenthood facilities with an actor posing as a 13-year-old girl, who told the centers she was having a sexual relationship with a 21-year-old man. The investigation documented how a majority of these centers coached the “actor” in a way that clearly indicated that they were willing to cover up for pedophiles. But there is even more evidence that Planned Parenthood covers child sexual abuse.
As a former researcher for Life Dynamics, I had the grueling task of reading through every horrific detail of several criminal cases where children were impregnated by a predator and taken to Planned Parenthood and other abortion centers – and no reports were filed by the providers. In many of these cases, the sexual abuse of the victim continued for years after the abortion, due to the clinic’s failure to comply with the law.
In fact, despite Dr. Drew’s claim that withholding evidence in a child sex crime would land you in prison, of all the cases I reviewed where a Planned Parenthood center or abortion clinic was mentioned, there was no evidence that anyone was ever prosecuted for violation of mandatory reporting laws.
In one case, which I detail further on my blog, a child was taken to Planned Parenthood – not once, but twice – after being raped by her pedophile father. California court documents show that the victim’s father was convicted of sexually abusing two of his daughters. They also show that he took the younger one to Planned Parenthood for two abortions.
Court documents show that in July of 2010, the pedophile’s 13-year-old daughter had an abortion at a Planned Parenthood clinic. She said that she did not tell clinic staff that her father had impregnated her, but instead made up a story about having a boyfriend her own age.
However, rather than reporting the pregnancy of the young girl for suspected abuse (which should have been done, due to her age), the Planned Parenthood abortionist simply performed the procedure and advised the child rape victim not to have sex for three weeks after her abortion. Remember, she was only 13 years old.
During the last weeks of October of that same year, court records indicate that the child’s father again impregnated his young daughter and on December 8, 2010, she was taken to Planned Parenthood for another abortion at six weeks of pregnancy. (And look at this detail: an IUD was implanted by Planned Parenthood after the girl’s second abortion. How convenient for her rapist!)
The abuse was brought to the attention of the authorities only after the victim’s older sister, who had also been sexually abused, reported his conduct toward her to the police. By that time, the damage to her younger sibling had been done and could have been stopped had the abortionist or Planned Parenthood reported it.
Additional criminal case summaries where Planned Parenthood failed to report sexual abuse include a young girl who was raped for an additional year and a half after her 44-year-old abuser took her to Planned Parenthood for an abortion. Another was a kidnapped girl who was taken to Planned Parenthood after her abuser sexually assaulted her when she was 15.

Dr. Drew supports Planned Parenthood, because, as he has stated, he has worked “around Planned Parenthood for a long time.”
We can’t expect Dr. Drew to be objective on this. After all, he was the recipient of Planned Parenthood’s 2013 Maggie Award, named after Planned Parenthood’s racist founder, Margaret Sanger. Sanger was a known eugenicist who advocated the forced sterilization of the “unfit” and admittedly met with the Klan on several occasions.
And, for his repeated and shameful denials that Planned Parenthood covers child rape, I hereby award Dr. Drew the Duplicitous Award.
