Former Planned Parenthood patient: “It was nothing but lies”

ultrasound, Alabama

Silent No More is an organization that gathers the testimonies of post-abortive women and men. They recently released a document containing the stories of women who had abortions at Planned Parenthood and now regret them. These women now believe that Planned Parenthood should be defunded. One woman named Barbara tells the story of how Planned Parenthood lied to her about the development of her preborn baby:

My name is Barbara. When I was 21, I had an abortion with the help of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Planned Parenthood told me at that time that my baby was nothing but tissue at that point in my pregnancy. I was about 10 weeks along. It was nothing but lies… I was in a horrible relationship, and was forced into having this awful procedure performed on me. This is a decision I will have to live with the rest of my life. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about that precious baby that I killed. There was no counseling afterwards, and no one to talk to…..

Please stop this from happening to other women…

Here is a sonogram of a preborn baby at ten weeks.. As you can see, the baby is fully formed with arms, legs, fingers, and toes.

As you can see, a ten week preborn baby is definitely not mere “tissue.”

A preborn baby’s heart starts beating at just twenty-one days after conception. Learn more about the way a baby’s heart develops and see a preborn baby’s heart beating at four and a half weeks.  Brain waves can be detected at around 40 days. Here is a video about brain development. By 7 to 8 weeks, the baby is fully formed, with arms, legs, fingers and toes. By ten weeks, these parts are even more developed.

Planned Parenthood lied to Barbara. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident but a common practice in the abortion industry.  Women who have had abortions often say that the clinic lied to them, or at least withheld information that may have led them to change their minds.  Former Planned Parenthood worker Catherine Adair describes how she “counseled” pregnant women who were trying to decide whether to have abortions:

In fact, clinic workers would purposefully avoid providing information on fetal development, what the child looked like, the child’s anatomical development and the pain he or she could feel. I was continuously reminded that when referring to the baby, the appropriate terminology was “clump of cells” or “contents of the uterus.”

Planned Parenthood’s mission is to pressure as many women into having an abortion as it can. Those in charge know that can’t be accomplished if they refer to the child as a “baby.”

Then women would know what was really growing inside them: a little person with a beating heart, functioning nervous system, tiny hands and feet. The child is entirely disregarded. There is no counseling, no care, no waiting and no discussion. Once a pregnancy is confirmed, it is off to termination.

Ironically, NARAL Pro-Choice America once released a fact sheet accusing crisis pregnancy centers of lying to women. The fact sheet said:

Unfortunately, reports indicate that CPCs frequently misinform, mislead, and coerce women with unintended or crisis pregnancies. Staff and volunteers at CPCs often use anti-abortion propaganda to dissuade women from exercising their right to choose…

Women are entitled to accurate, comprehensive and unbiased medical information with which they can make their own decisions.

Yes, women are definitely entitled to comprehensive and unbiased information. Unfortunately, they will seldom get it in abortion clinics.

It is not hard to figure out many abortion workers’ motives for lying. After all, if a woman goes through with her abortion, the clinic gets paid. Between fees for the abortion itself and money made selling fetal parts, clinics make hundreds of dollars off of each woman’s abortion. If  a woman decides against abortion and leaves, the clinic makes no money at all.

With human nature being so corrupt, especially among people who kill babies for a living, it is not surprising that many counselors deceive and coerce women.
