Jindal: Abortion partly to blame for culture that produces mass shootings

Bobby-Jindal

On Tuesday, Louisiana Governor and Republican presidential candidate Bobby Jindal wrote a blog post arguing that abortion was a cultural factor indirectly leading to last week’s shooting at an Oregon community college.

Jindal contended that “everyone knows deep down, but politicians are afraid to talk about” the “root cause of all these evil acts”: “deep and serious cultural decay in our society.”

“We devalue human life, we have no regard for the sanctity of human life in any regard,” he said as one of his examples, “from the unborn, to the old, and to every single person in between, we devalue it and act as if we have almost no regard for humanity.”

Jindal went on to summarize it as “the old computer axiom – garbage in, garbage out.” He called on America to address a multitude of crises, including “the devaluation of human life,” and predicted that if the country does not, “we will get the exact same result.”

Jindal has a strong pro-life record as governor, and has been one of the most outspoken in the presidential primary field, from terminating Louisiana’s Medicaid contract with Planned Parenthood to saying Congressional Republicans should be willing to risk a government shutdown to defund the abortion giant to responding to pro-abortion protesters by playing the Center for Medical Progress investigative videos on a large screen outside the governor’s mansion.
