Students for Life 2014 conference opens for registration
The worst part of the pro-life fight can be feeling isolated in it. Young people longing to stand for life sometimes find little support to do so, but Students for Life of America (SFLA) wants to help students take a stand, bond together, and be more than a rallying cry – to be an empowering force that unites and strengthens pro-lifers, especially students, to abolish abortion in their generation.
The SFLA conference will be held on January 21, the eve of Roe v. Wade’s 41st anniversary, at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, which is one of the largest African-American churches within the greater Washington, D.C. area. The all-day conference features speakers from major pro-life organizations who are on the forefront of the pro-life battle, including national leaders from 40 Days for Life, Radiance Foundation, Students for Life, and Alliance Defending Freedom. You can see the whole lineup under “Schedule.”
According to the website:
The Conference kicks off at 9:30 a.m. (EST) and features morning, afternoon, and evening sessions with national pro-life speakers. Topics include pro-life apologetics, how to start and lead a pro-life outreach, your rights on campus, dispelling the top 5 myths about abortion, and how to transform your campus and community through revolutionary strategies.
Abolishing abortion takes a united effort of all who fight for this cause, and the students and young leaders in the nation will be the industry leaders, senators, financiers, and CEOs of tomorrow. A conference like this has the power to bring together a pro-life meeting of the minds that will change the face of history by helping to empower the attendees to champion justice. “Abolishing abortion” is a term we hear often, but it’s one SFLA is committed to carrying out; therefore, it holds this conference as a gathering to equip, a prelude to the March for Life, and a somber reminder of 41 years of American injustice where the battle for truth must not end until all are granted a right to live.
Bringing together thousands of people, this conference is billed as “the largest pro-life conference in the United States.” SFLA says, “Participants travel from across the nation to receive training in how to be effective pro-life activists, get educated on all current life issues, and become inspired to abolish abortion in our lifetime.”
While geared toward students, it’s open to anyone who wants to attend. SFLA says, “This conference is for adults, graduate, college, and high school students. Most of the materials covered are suitable for middle school aged students as well. We will also be offering Leadership Summits for College, High School, and Med and Law students.”
Students have a discounted cost of $45 through Dec. 31, which then goes to $50. Adults may register for $60, which goes to $70 after Dec. 31. Information on the event is available at at http://sflalive.org, and online registration is available through this link. Or you may contact event coordinator Tina Whittington at 571-379-7261 or email@example.com.
Power in unity and empowerment through knowledge come together at the SFLA conference, with the opportunity to the participate in the March for Life the next day. Consider attending both and continuing the fight for life in the United States.
