Repeat abortions increase risk of premature birth

How can anyone be in favor of choice without information?

A new study has come out of Europe, showing yet again that there are massive risks to having an abortion. This study found that women who have repeat abortions have a higher risk of premature birth when they do have children.

Having repeat abortions can raise the risk of life-threatening problems for future pregnancies, according to a study. Women who had three or more were up to three times more likely to have a future baby early – even before 28 weeks in the womb – and of a poor weight.

Those who had two abortions before their first child also had a greater chance of giving birth prematurely. Babies who are born early, particularly by three months or more, and with a low weight often need special hospital care to ensure their survival.

… Those who had had three or more abortions had an increased risk of four problems affecting their first child, compared with women who had had no abortions.

They had an almost threefold risk of having the baby before 28 weeks. They also had double the risk of very low birthweight (3lb 5oz). There was a slightly increased risk of premature birth for women who had had two abortions.

So we can now add premature birth and low birth weight – which are both very serious issues – to the long list of health risks after having an abortion. And how many women are having repeat abortions? Well, according to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, about half of all abortions in the United States are repeat abortions. In the United Kingdom, it’s about 35% of abortions. That’s clearly a pretty sizeable number of women with repeat abortions, who in all likelihood probably don’t know the risks they’re taking. And this is in addition to the health risks for abortion that we already knew about.

Women who have abortions are at increased risk for mental health issues, including a 155% increased risk of suicide. Their risk of multiple cancers (most notably breast cancer) and other health problems are increased, including of uterine perforations, cervical lacerations, pelvic inflammatory disease, and multiple problems with future pregnancies, such as ectopic pregnancies and placenta previa.

Will women be warned about any of this when they go to get an abortion? Absolutely not, in most cases. And the pro-abortion fanatics who call themselves “pro-choice” will do everything they can to keep it a secret. They’ll lie, manipulate data, distort facts…do anything they can to keep women from knowing that abortion isn’t safe. There are astounding health risks that come with having an abortion, and women aren’t being told about them. Yet when women are told, the people who claim to be pro-choice are angry. How can anyone be in favor of choice without information? Women deserve to know what risks they’re taking by getting an abortion. It’s not just the unborn child who is harmed.
