National Abortion Federation’s textbook pretends there’s no baby in D&E abortions

The National Abortion Federation has an abortion textbook that gives how-to instructions. In Chapter Eleven of “Comprehensive Abortion Care,” NAF describes the steps for a D&E abortion. Included in the instructions is a graphic which claims to show this type of abortion at 16 weeks.

Here is what a 16-week-old baby looks like:

But here is NAF’s graphic of an abortion performed on a child at this age (found on page 19 here):

While it’s easy to locate parts of the woman’s body, the forceps, and even the abortionist’s hands, the entire body of the baby is missing. The National Abortion Federation is openly pretending that abortion does not involve a preborn child.

As Dave Andrusko writes:

The forceps are opening and closing over….nothing. There is no baby, not even any “pregnancy elements” in sight.

A NAF textbook is showing an abortion but there’s nothing/nobody being aborted.

However, at 16 weeks of pregnancy, a preborn child is incredibly developed. Her toenails are appearing, her heart is pumping 25 quarts of blood each day, and the pattern of hair on her skull is developing. She has been touching her mouth for weeks now.

Scientific organization EHD (Endowment for Human Development) explains that, at this age, female babies move their mouths more often than males, perhaps revealing a greater tendency to talk later in life. At 16 weeks of pregnancy, a baby’s cheeks are just about to turn chubby with baby fat. Some women have even felt their baby move for the first time. This child absolutely exists. (See amazing photos of babies at this age from EHD here.)

The medical facts of D&E abortion – also called dismemberment abortion – are not pretty. They are brutally horrific. According to former abortionists, a preborn child is literally torn apart, piece by piece, in his or her mother’s womb. The abortionist extracts each piece – legs, arms, internal organs. Then, the abortionist crushes the baby’s skull because it is often too large to be pulled out whole. Sometimes, the child’s brain begins to ooze out of the woman, letting the abortionist know he has successfully taken the baby’s head apart.

In the first Abortion Procedures video released by Live Action, Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortionist, describes a D&E abortion. The video uses medical animation to show this abortion to viewers. Unlike NAF’s “textbook,” the Abortion Procedures video gives accurate information to women: there is a child involved in D&E abortions, and this child is pulled apart limb by limb.

In contrast with NAF’s drawing, here is a medical animation that depicts the child who is being brutalized by the forceps.

As Andrusko wrote in February of 2015:

Even the National Abortion Federation is afraid to show what a later abortion looks like. Without admitting to, they have imagined the baby out of existence.

NAF, Planned Parenthood, and the rest of their motley crew…[is] terrified that the visual truth about dismemberment abortions will get out, even to their own kind.

This doctor has performed over 1,200 abortions. Now, he’s revealing what actually happens during a second trimester abortion procedure. This video may just change the abortion debate.
