On the 53rd anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, Dr. Alveda King, niece of the late civil rights leader, told Fox News that she believes the dream of her uncle is still alive today.
King, who serves as director of Civil Rights for the Unborn at Priests for Life, reiterated that “from the womb to the tomb,” every human life matters.
“I still believe that there is hope for America, and I believe that my uncle’s dream is still alive today,” King said.
King, who refuses to remain silent about how abortion harms women and children, also speaks about the impact of abortion on the African American community.
During an interview on the “Jim Bakker Show,” King discussed how abortion has disproportionately affected Blacks and minorities, killing more African American lives than all leading causes of death combined.
“We have been tricked and fooled and bought into that lie that abortion is health care and it’s helping our communities,” King said.
“Why is it that black women are more than 5 times as likely as a white woman to have an abortion?” King asked.
King, who criticized Planned Parenthood, describes how research shows that the abortion giant has profited from the destruction of Black lives.
“When abortion became legal, then it was offered on a disproportionate rate to the black community, and sold as reproductive health care, reproductive freedom – this is your right. But Black Lives Matter in the womb, I would think,” King said.
“Planned Parenthood hates it when this is explained. About 60 to 70% of all Planned Parenthoods are in minority neighborhoods, King explained. “Abortion is billed and marketed – abortion mills or clinics are in predominantly black communities and we have proven this.”
Black Americans only represent 13 percent of the U.S. population, but 30 percent of aborted children. In New York City, a Black preborn baby is more likely to be aborted than to be born.
In an investigation by Live Action, Planned Parenthood staffers expressed willingness to profit from the targeting of Black lives for abortion.
At its conception, Planned Parenthood was founded upon the eugenic beliefs of Margaret Sanger, who held racist affiliations and even accepted offers to speak at a KKK woman’s rally and other similar groups.
King, who once decried Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry’s targeting of Black lives, said:
“The most obvious practitioner of racism in the United States today is Planned Parenthood, an organization founded by the eugenicist Margaret Sanger and recently documented as ready to accept money to eliminate black babies. The most positive step we can take to fight racism is to end the hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies given to an organization that fulfills the dreams of the Ku Klux Klan — a group Planned Parenthood’s founder once addressed.”
