As Live Action News has reported before, Republicans have been encouraging Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) to run for Speaker of the House after Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) has announced his resignation.

On Tuesday night, Rep. Ryan made an announcement about his decision.  As the Washington Examiner reported, he will run, so long as Republicans will unify and certain conditions are met.

Rep. Ryan is pro-life, even in cases of rape and incest. He was Mitt Romney’s running mate in 2012 and spoke about his pro-life beliefs during the campaign, including at the vice-presidential debate.

Ryan has previously discussed his view that the right to life cannot be separated from the ideals of freedom.

As the Washington Examiner also reports, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a pro-life Congressman who had previously announced he would run, has decided to bow out of the race.
