Texas Right to Life has assembled an all-star lineup for its Boots on the Ground Pro-Life student conference taking place Saturday in conjunction with the annual Texas March for Life. Nearly 100 students from across the state pre-registered for the conference and more may be admitted at the door.

The schedule of speakers includes Bobby Schindler, the brother of Terri Schiavo; Arland Nichols, the Director of Education and Evangelization at Human Life international; John Seago, Texas Right to Life’s Legislative Director; Jennifer Rumpf, a pro-life medical student; and Dorothy Richardson of the Houston Coalition for Life. Each speaker has a unique message to bring to students, and the talks will range from information about Planned Parenthood’s underhanded targeting of the youth to how students can get involved in end-of-life issues (like Marlise Munoz’s), which are unjustly ravaging Texas.

In addition to the invaluable information about Life issues that the conference will provide, Texas Right to Life has worked activism and socializing into the schedule. Students will break mid-conference to attend the Rally for Life together through Downtown Austin. The Rally will conclude with a gathering at the Texas Capitol Building, where speakers can range from Pro-Life politicians to post-abortive women who share their testimonies about the harm that abortion caused in their lives. After the March and Saturday speakers lineup is concluded, students may choose to wind down the busy day with a movie at the hotel, or keep the excitement alive country line dancing in the heart of Austin.

The conference will conclude with a talk over breakfast on Sunday morning with Representative Sid Miller (R- District 59), who solidly defends the unborn each legislative session and works closely with Texas Right to Life in its legislative endeavors. Students will learn from Rep. Miller what kinds of challenges face an individual who chooses to work in the legislative arena while holding firm to his pro-life values.
