Trump endorses defunding Planned Parenthood, denies past waffling

On Tuesday night, GOP presidential candidate and business mogul Donald Trump denied supporting partial funding for Planned Parenthood.

In response to Bill O’Reilly asking why he opposed defunding the abortion giant, Trump insisted that “I’m not supporting Planned Parenthood” and “I never said” that it should keep receiving federal funding.

“You read a wrong report, Bill. You have bad researchers, what can I tell,” Trump said. “A lot of people say it’s an abortion clinic. I’m opposed to that. And I wouldn’t do any funding as long as they are performing abortions.”

But as Live Action News reported last month, Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that “we have to look at the positive also for Planned Parenthood,” suggesting it deserves at least partial funding for non-abortion services that “are good for women.”

Trump, who converted from “very strongly pro-choice” to pro-life sometime between 1999 and 2011, answered Hannity’s objections by suggesting, “Maybe unless they stop with the abortions, we don’t do the funding for the stuff that we want.” On Tuesday, Trump seemingly settled on “I would be totally opposed to funding” Planned Parenthood because they have not and will not “stop with the abortions.”
