Warning: cigarettes kill and so do abortions

Today we read in the headlines that the FDA is going to be using a new series of “graphic images” to dissuade people from cigarette smoking by showing them the dangers. The new stronger images will be appearing on cigarette packaging as of September 2012. And yet we know the FDA does not use graphic images to dissuade people from getting abortions and has no plan in place to do so. Women, in many instances, are not even given a warning that abortion kills their unborn child, by anyone. They are warned constantly however that smoking can hurt their unborn child.

People generally don’t like graphic anti-smoking ads, but not many are willing to go to court to get rid of them. Did you notice that I said anti-smoking? Why isn’t it okay to be anti-abortion? It’s socially acceptable to be anti-smoking. Did you ever hear any rational person say minors should have the right to smoke? Neither do people have objections to laws that forbid the sale of cigarettes to minors (except wayward minors who try to purchase them!) It’s even illegal to buy cigarettes for a minor. Minors can get abortions. They can even get them without parental consent.

Walk into any Wal-Mart in America and you will find age restrictions on the sale of video games, movies, certain cold medicines, paint in spray cans, certain glues, knives, ammunition, alcohol and cigarettes. In fact it’s Wal-Mart’s policy to ID anyone who appears under the age of 40 for the purchase of beer or alcohol and in many states, state and local authority conduct regular stings to check for compliance with the law. And yet, any minor in America can buy birth control and when that fails, they can walk into any Planned Parenthood in America and have an abortion, regardless of age.

Perhaps one day women will walk into an abortion facility and see a graphic abortion next to the following:

WARNING: THE SURGEON GENERAL HAS DETERMINED THAT ABORTION HAS BEEN SHOWN TO KILL YOUR UNBORN CHILD ALMOST EVERY TIME. PLEASE QUIT ABORTION TODAY.
